Phonics: We will work on words with the inflected ending of -ed. Here are some examples planned, helped, jogged, asked, and called.
Spelling: PRACTICE TEST- Thursday TEST-Friday

Reading: TEST- Friday

Read "Frog and Toad Together" pp. 96-111 every night this week. Read "Growing Plants" pp. 114-115 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
We will review and discuss cause and effect. We will also review main idea. The skill this week is comparing and contrasting. When you compare things, you tell are they are alike. When you contrast things, you tell how they are different. Why did the author write the story? Remember the word pie, pis for persuade, i is for information, and e is for entertain. These are the 3 reasons that author's write.
Language: We will identify verbs for now and the past. Here are some examples, plant, runs walks, jumps, jumped, helped asked, and planned.
Math: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Test- Thursday
Addition and Subtraction Strategies: We will use addition to subtract. We will think addition to subtract. We will practice addition and subtraction strategies. We will use addition facts to 20 .
Science: Life Cycles
Social Studies: Places
Read Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,and Thursday nights "Frog and Toad Together" pp. 96-111 and Read Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights "growing Plants" pp.
Practice Spelling Words nightly
Phonics homework nightly.
There will be some Math practice homework as well.
If a student does not finish his or her work during the day, it goes home as homework and is due the next day.
